Gods of Olympus
This is a page showcasing what I consider to be my most important or interesting Gods of Olympus gameplay videos. I have set them up mainly in chronological order. For the most part, my videos (over 300) included a lot of griping and whinging about the slow development of the game and the poor game culture that was fostered by the players. Overall, my experience of playing GoO wasn't a whole lot of fun because there wasn't a clear separation of "ranked" and "social" game modes that would cater to hardcore-competitive and casual-social gamers, respectively.
I found the mechanics of GoO extremely challenging and wanted to see the game experience develop for skilled players, but instead the game was riddled with players who readily employed cheats and exploits. It is a shame because Gods of Olympus had an opportunity to be remembered as one of the best mobile strategy games of all time. It was imperative to attract elite, competitive players, but the studio which produced the game, Aegis Interactive, decided to go in a completely different direction.

My First Video and Series - Base Poppin' Series
There were 39 videos in the first series and some of the videos revealed that early on I was irritated with the liberal use of exploits ("lionic" style) while I was becoming aware of the dangers of the "social" aspects of assisting support habits of players in the game (ie. cornertenting).

Cracking the Top 100 Player Ranking - Top Pop Series
There were 34 videos in the Top Pop series and while producing videos that tracked my quest to make the top 100 player ranking, I also began making videos for the Base Poopin' and God Pop series. The former was about public shaming for unsportsmanlike and exploitative play, while the latter was related to single player mode events in the game.
Holding a Top 100 Spot - Get Popped, Solo Pop, Nerf Pop Series
The next few series didn't have as many videos as the first two (an indication I was already getting bored with the game). The Get Popped series focused on battles against top 100 players while I was still in the top 100, and the Solo Pop series focused on my battles where I had no assist help. After the May update in 2017, I felt that I had to desert my signature "pop" attack style and so I created a series, Nerf Pop, for battles using the less enjoyable "Slow Push" tactic. Get Popped had 24 videos, Solo Pop had 10 videos, and Nerf Pop had 9 videos.
Promo Spots and Special Events - Alliance Wars
The players and I were becoming restless with the lack of updates and new content as well as the communication blackout with Aegis Interactive. I decided to do some promo videos for the alliances I visited as well as organizing the first Alliance Wars event in Gods of Olympus.
Renewing Faith - from Limpgimpus to Got Pop?
I was becoming disillusioned with the game experience. The updates were few and far between while the major changes from the May update (2017) had seemed to nerf my signature attack style. An elite player, Claquesous, let me know that there was a subtle tweak from the May update that allowed me to keep using my signature "pop" attack style. I was eager to get back to the top 100 player ranking. The Got Pop? series had 39 videos like my first series and then I followed up with Double Bills.
Single Player Mode and Challenges - God Pop Series
My videos for solo mode solutions and general tips have proven to be the most consistent for views and positive feedback from other GoO players.
Elite Skill vs Casual Exploits - Base Poopin' Series
The Base Poopin' series was sometimes about rage and venting anger, sometimes it was about mockery and public shaming, sometimes it was straight up political, and at other times it was just about sharing embarrassing moments that other players experienced through playing the game with zero intuition or know-how. Room for all!
Post-Mortem
After walking away from Gods of Olympus for more than half a year, I decided to re-install and see if I still had an interest in the gameplay or the community. Nothing had changed except the game had a whole lot less players and the use of exploits was rampant and considered common and acceptable. As a response to seeing the degenerate culture that I had tried to fix now thriving totally unimpeded by social critique, I decided to try my hand at rapping. I created two raps about the game and posted them publicly. I had fun making the videos and don't regret what was said in the lyrics. The songs were inspired by Eminem who had released an incendiary album a month earlier.

In 2019, I learned that the developers, Aegis Interactive, had finally incorporated more than one of my suggestions. I was given no credit nor informed about the updates.
