1995-2020: The Era of Anti-Social Media
I have come to realize that we haven't developed socially in over twenty years of the commercial internet being an ubiquitous experience in our lives. We remain in our infancy culturally with respect to the development of our digital lives. The first video provides a definition for "anti-social media", the second video defines "popularity", and the third video is much longer and analyzes discovery feeds on Instagram, Vero, and Social Club. I determine that Instagram is anti-social for having an oppressive "statist" approach to the platform-user relationship (master-slave). Social Club is anti-social for having a callous "anarchist" approach to the platform-user relationship. Whereas, Vero is anti-social for having an abhorrent "elitist" approach to the platform-user relationship. I plan on developing these ideas further.
